Guests of the Old Irwin Lodge are able to enjoy recreational activities year-round.
The South Fork of the Snake River is open for trout fishing all year and the extensive trail system in the adjacent National Forests is open both summer and winter.

Location & Driving DirectionsThe Old Irwin Lodge is nestled in beautiful Swan Valley, which is located in Eastern Idaho between Idaho Falls, Idaho and Jackson, Wyoming. There are three roads that take you into Swan Valley. All are beautiful drives with stunning views of the regions mountains, rivers, canyons and valleys.

Directions from Idaho Falls, ID (52 miles)
Along this drive you will see rolling fields, home to Idaho's famous potatoes, as The Big Hole Mountains slowly rise along The South Fork of The Snake River. As you near Swan Valley, The Caribou Mountains guide you into Conant Valley along the South Fork of The Snake River as you enter beautiful Swan Valley.
- Drive east on US 26 (Yellowstone Hwy.) for approximately 43 miles toward Swan Valley;
- Continue east on US 26 for about 7 miles through the small towns of Swan Valley and Irwin;
- Turn left on Palisades Creek Road, just past Milepost 384 and Raven Road;
- Continue on Palisades Creek Road for approximately 500 feet;
- Turn left onto Old Irwin Road;
- Continue on Old Irwin Road for about 1.5 miles to the Lodge located at 1591 Old Irwin Road.

Directions from Jackson, WY (via Alpine, Wyoming) (59 miles)
This popular scenic drive winds through The Grand Canyon of The Snake River to Alpine Junction. In Alpine Junction, the beautiful Palisades Reservoir joins you in your journey to Swan Valley before becoming The South Fork of The Snake River. Make sure you stop along your drive to enjoy this beautiful scenery.
- Drive west on US 26 (Broadway, US 89, 189 & 191) approximately 36 miles toward Alpine, Wyoming;
- Turn right at Alpine Junction to continue west on US 26;
- Continue west on US 26 for about 21 miles;
- Turn right onto Palisades Creek Road, just past the sign for the real Palisades Creek;
- Continue on Palisades Creek Road for approximately 500 feet;
- Turn left onto Old Irwin Road;
- Continue on Old Irwin Road for about 1.5 miles to the Lodge located at 1591 Old Irwin Road.

Directions from Jackson, Wyoming (via Teton Pass) (54 miles)
This spectacular route takes you up into The Teton Range with gorgeous views of Jackson Hole behind you. As you leave Wyoming, lovely Teton Valley welcomes you in Victor, Idaho. From there you drive into The Big Hole Mountains, over Pine Creek Pass and into Swan Valley.
- Drive west on US 26 (Broadway, US 89, 189 & 191) approximately 1.4 miles to WY 22
- Turn right on WY 22 towards Victor, Idaho;
- Continue west on WY 22 about 23 miles to Victor. (WY 22 becomes ID 33 at Wyoming/Idaho boundary);
- Turn left on ID 31 (W. Center St.) toward Swan Valley;
- Continue about 21 miles on ID 31 to Swan Valley;
- Turn left onto US 26;
- Continue east on US 26 about 7 miles through the small towns of Swan Valley and Irwin;
- Turn left on Palisades Creek Road just past Milepost 384 and Raven Road;
- Continue on Palisades Creek Road for approximately 500 feet;
- Turn left onto Old Irwin Road;
- Continue on Old Irwin Road for about 1.5 miles to the Lodge located at 1591 Old Irwin Road.
